Enhance smoky flavor and add salt, pepper, etc.
Minimize moisture loss in hamburger buns
Single item priced at 4,000 won until the 21st
Burger King's 'Whopper Discontinuation' was ultimately noise marketing. On the 15th, Burger King launched the 'New Whopper,' which adds smoky flavor, salt, and pepper to the existing Whopper. On the 8th, Burger King announced on its website that "Whopper sales will end on April 14 after 40 years."
Burger King, which opened its first store in Korea in 1984, has consistently been loved for its signature Whopper. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of its entry into Korea, Burger King plans to continue the 'Smoky Flavor Project,' starting with the New Whopper, upgrading each ingredient and cooking method to emphasize the smoky flavor.
The New Whopper includes a golden ratio of salt and pepper that maximizes umami and meaty aroma. The tender foam method, which fills the spaces between the meat with juice, is applied to provide rich meat juice and a soft texture. The hamburger bun is coated with a glazed finish to minimize moisture evaporation, enhancing elasticity and keeping the inside moist.
To celebrate the launch of this new product, Burger King has produced stickers of a self-developed smoky flavor icon, which will be given to customers who purchase Whopper products at stores while supplies last, allowing customers to enjoy the smoky flavor at various touchpoints. Additionally, the smoky flavor icon will be showcased through pennant flags, tray mats, and wraps.
Meanwhile, Burger King is running a nationwide Whopper 4,000 won promotion for customers visiting stores until the 21st. Customers can enjoy the new 'New Whopper' at the price of 4,000 won, which is about the price from 20 years ago, and Bulgogi Whopper and Cheese Whopper are also available at discounted prices.
The 'Nationwide Whopper 4,000 Won Promotion' is available at Burger King stores nationwide, excluding delivery and some locations. It cannot be combined with other discounts or coupons. For more details, please check Burger King's official website, SNS, and app.
