President Baekho: "Warm Spring Flower Gifts to Express Gratitude to Citizens, Hope for Increased Use of Seoul Subway During Spring Outing Season"

On the morning of the 16th, commuters at Gwanghwamun Station can enjoy a pleasant spring atmosphere accompanied by the fragrant scent of flowers.

Seoul Metro Corporation (President Baek Ho) announced that on the morning of the 16th at 8 a.m., it will hold a free distribution event of a total of 1,000 flower pots on a first-come, first-served basis for citizens using Gwanghwamun Station.

The corporation, together with the Goyang International Flower Fair Foundation, organized this event to support citizens' busy daily lives and to promote the use of public transportation during the spring outing season when flowers are in full bloom.

The distribution location is the concourse at Exit 3 of Gwanghwamun Station on Line 5. The flowers to be given to commuters during the event are "Kalandiva."

Additionally, a campaign to promote public transportation usage will be held concurrently.

"Kalandiva" is a hybrid variety of "Kalanchoe," a plant belonging to the Crassulaceae family in the order Rosales. Its flower language symbolizes excitement. It carries the meaning of wishing everyone a day full of excitement on a warm spring day with loved ones and friends.

There is also a citizen invitation event offering tickets to the "Goyang International Flower Fair," which will be held for 17 days from April 26 to May 12.

Citizens can participate in the event by accessing the "Citizen Invitation Cultural Event" section on the corporation’s website under "Citizen Participation." Among the applicants, 125 people will be selected by lottery to receive two tickets each.

The citizen invitation event for the "Goyang International Flower Fair," which started on the 9th, is open for applications until the 18th, and the winners will be announced on the 19th.

Moreover, citizens who visit the Goyang International Flower Fair using public transportation can receive a 3,000 KRW discount when purchasing tickets on-site.
