YouTuber Imoni Born in 1993 Shares Experience of Myocardial Infarction
"Cold Sweat and Chest Pain with a Numb Feeling"
Amid uncertainty surrounding the exact cause of death of singer the late Park Boram (30), the story of a female YouTuber in her 30s who had her leg amputated due to acute myocardial infarction is gaining renewed attention. This comes as speculation arises that Park Boram's death may have been caused by heart or cerebrovascular disease.
On the 14th, a video sharing the story of YouTuber 'Imoni,' who became disabled with an amputation due to acute myocardial infarction, was circulated on online communities and various social networking services (SNS). The video was originally uploaded on Imoni's YouTube channel about four months ago. Born in 1993, Imoni shares her daily life living with a disability after leg amputation through YouTube.

In a video titled "So this is what it means to have come back from the brink of death? The situation when a 1993-born person had acute myocardial infarction and the pain I felt," she detailed the circumstances when she collapsed from acute myocardial infarction and was taken to the hospital. In March 2022, after work, she had dinner and left the house to take a walk with her dog. She recalled, "It was cold and I was hesitant because I was lazy, but I thought I might as well do it quickly, so I put on the dog's leash and took out the recyclable trash bag to throw away. As soon as I took the elevator down to the basement level 1, I felt like I had been shot in the chest."
She said, "The chest pain gradually worsened and I started to lose strength, feeling like I was about to collapse immediately. I crawled up the hill where cars were coming and going, holding my chest with one hand. I hoped someone would notice me."
She added, "My chest hurt but I had no strength at all, so I lay down next to the security office. My dog barked wildly, probably sensing something was wrong when its owner collapsed." Fortunately, two women passing by noticed Imoni and called 119 (emergency services). She explained the symptoms she experienced during the acute myocardial infarction as "cold sweat, a feeling like something was pressing down on my chest, a sensation like being shot, and a chilling feeling around the chest all hitting strongly at the same time," adding, "Then I became short of breath and foam came out of my throat."
After being taken to the hospital, Imoni lost consciousness and only regained it two days later. During her hospitalization and treatment, necrosis occurred due to blood clots, and she ultimately had to have her leg amputated. Imoni reflected, "If I hadn't gone out to walk my dog, I think something could have gone wrong at home. When you experience such a situation for the first time, even though it hurts, it's hard to judge whether you should go to the hospital. Who would have thought I would have acute myocardial infarction?"
She urged her subscribers, "I heard this happens especially often in winter. Blood vessels constrict and the heart can be strained, so make sure to keep warm during winter."
Meanwhile, Park Boram collapsed in the bathroom while drinking with two female acquaintances at a friend's residence in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, around 9:55 p.m. on the 11th. She was transported to the hospital by 119 emergency services but was pronounced dead around 11:17 p.m. The police plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death, and as a result, a funeral hall has not yet been set up.
