Yoon holds a 2-hour 15-minute meeting with Chairperson Park Dan
President Yoon Suk-yeol met with Park Dan, the Emergency Response Committee Chair of the Korean Intern Resident Association, on the 4th to listen to the opinions of medical residents and their poor treatment and working conditions.
According to Kim Soo-kyung, spokesperson for the Presidential Office, President Yoon met with Chair Park at the Yongsan Presidential Office from 2:00 PM to 4:15 PM, for a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Chair Park conveyed the opinions of the medical residents to President Yoon.
According to the residents' demands, the requested items include ▲ increasing the number of medical school admissions and completely scrapping the essential medical package ▲ establishing a scientific physician supply and demand forecasting organization ▲ expanding specialist recruitment at training hospitals ▲ easing legal burdens for unavoidable medical accidents ▲ improving the training environment for residents ▲ fully withdrawing unfair administrative orders targeting residents ▲ and completely abolishing work commencement orders.
Meanwhile, Sung Tae-yoon, Chief of Policy Office, and Kim Soo-kyung, spokesperson, attended the meeting.
