The Ministry of Personnel Management announced the successful candidates of the "2024 National Civil Service Grade 5 Open Competitive Recruitment and Diplomatic Candidate Selection First Examination," held on the 2nd of last month, on the 3rd through the Cyber National Examination Center (www.gosi.kr).

The number of successful candidates for the Grade 5 open competitive exam was 2,126, consisting of 1,527 administrative positions and 599 science and technology positions. For diplomatic candidates, 291 passed, bringing the total number of successful candidates to 2,417.

This year, 7,219 candidates took the Grade 5 open competitive first exam, which selects 305 people, resulting in a competition ratio of 23.7 to 1. The highest passing score was 84.16 points in General Administration (Gyeonggi).

Among the Grade 5 open competitive first exam passers, 1,376 (64.7%) were male and 750 (35.3%) were female. For administrative positions, 911 males (59.7%) and 616 females (40.3%) passed, while for science and technology positions, 465 males (77.6%) and 134 females (22.4%) passed.

The average age of successful candidates was 27.9 years, slightly higher than last year's 27.4 years.

By age group, those aged 25?29 were the largest group with 1,090 candidates (51.3%), followed by 19?24 years with 460 (21.6%), 30?34 years with 407 (19.2%), and 35 years and older with 169 (7.9%).

This year, 1,255 candidates took the diplomatic candidate first exam, which selects 43 people, showing a competition ratio of 29.2 to 1.

Among the successful diplomatic candidate first exam passers, 167 (57.4%) were female and 124 (42.6%) were male, with an average age of 26.9 years, slightly higher than last year's 26.6 years.

The second exam for those who passed the first exam will be a thesis-type written test. The second exam for Grade 5 administrative positions and diplomatic candidates will be held from June 28 to July 3, and for Grade 5 science and technology positions from July 4 to July 9.
