Mercedes-Benz GLE·GLS
Stand Out in the High-End SUV Market
As demand for Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) increases, competition among manufacturers has become more intense. The mid-to-large SUV GLE and the flagship large SUV GLS from the premium brand Mercedes-Benz are gaining attention thanks to their solid fundamentals, highly preferred designs, and a full range of advanced features.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE has sold over 2 million units worldwide. The SUV lineup includes diesel models, 3000cc gasoline models, and high-performance models. The coupe-style SUV with a sleek rear is available in diesel and high-performance versions. All models in Korea come with all-wheel drive. Prices range from 114 million KRW to 160.6 million KRW.
All GLE models are equipped with a mild hybrid system combined with a 48V electrical system. Featuring a second-generation integrated starter generator, it adds up to 15 kW and 200 Nm of power and torque. Both the SUV and coupe models have off-road driving modes. The driver’s seat and central display clearly show information such as road tilt, slope, terrain altitude, and geographic coordinates. Additionally, the latest version of the driving assistance system and convenience features preferred in Korea are standard.
The GLS is the third-generation facelift model released last November. It comes in two lineups: a 6-cylinder 3000cc diesel and an 8-cylinder 4000cc gasoline, priced at 161.6 million KRW and 181.5 million KRW, respectively. The front radiator grille has been enlarged and redesigned. The rear bumper and lamps have also been newly designed to give a three-dimensional impression. The AMG line exterior package is applied as standard.
The gasoline model delivers 557 horsepower, an increase of 68 horsepower from before, while the diesel produces 367 horsepower, up by 37 horsepower. The second-generation mild hybrid system boosts output by 15 to 16 kW. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported wirelessly. Furthermore, the latest version of the driving assistance system, multi-beam LED headlights that change lighting modes according to driving conditions, a parking package including a 360-degree camera, and a toll payment system are among the various convenience features provided as standard.
