Establishment of Learning and Career Coaching Institute and Pledge to Provide Convenient Breakfast Meals for Youth
Park Byeong-seok, the Saeroun Mirae candidate for Buk-gu (Eul), Gwangju Metropolitan City, promised investments for the future generations of Gwangju.
On the 26th, candidate Park announced his second pledge, including the establishment of a Learning and Career Coaching Institute and providing convenient breakfast meals for youth.
The ‘Youth Learning and Career Coaching Institute (tentative name)’ will promote efficient learning and career coaching through ▲inviting top-tier college admission consultants to hold regular admission academies ▲customized coaching on career and college admissions by involving retired teachers with extensive admission guidance experience ▲building a network bank that integrates admission guidance know-how held by each school to establish a high-quality information infrastructure.
Through this, it is expected to enhance the value of premium education in Buk-gu while minimizing the cost burden on residents and students by operating as a public or incorporated association. It is also anticipated to somewhat alleviate the high educational demand and enthusiasm of Buk-gu residents.
Candidate Park stated, “There are many outstanding talents in various fields in Gwangju, but sometimes they suffer disadvantages due to lack of admission information compared to the metropolitan area,” adding, “To resolve this, if the ‘Youth Learning and Career Coaching Institute (tentative name)’ is established as a public or incorporated association, systematic learning guidance and college admission counseling will be possible at low cost, unlike in the metropolitan area.”
The ‘Provision of Convenient Breakfast Meals for Youth’ is a Gwangju-type pledge consisting of ▲providing free breakfast such as sandwiches and multigrain rice balls to youth who will lead the future ▲creating jobs by linking with eco-friendly meal service companies ▲activating local food direct transactions. This pledge was also announced as a party pledge of Saeroun Mirae and has been refined to connect local jobs and local food direct transactions reflecting the characteristics of Buk-gu, Gwangju.
Candidate Park said, “The lower the frequency of breakfast consumption during adolescence, the higher the obesity rate, which also affects academic achievement,” adding, “In particular, the food insecurity rate of the bottom 20% income households is nearly twice that of the top 20%.”
He continued, “By combining eco-friendly meal service companies and agricultural products produced in the Honam region, it raises the income of local businesses and helps create jobs,” adding, “This has a regional economic inducement effect while reducing the burden on parents and improving students’ health and academic performance.”
