'Hybe Maknae Daughter' Girl Group Aileet to Debut on the 25th

HYBE's new girl group 'ILLIT' officially debuts on the 25th.

On the 25th, Belift Lab announced that ILLIT will release their first mini album 'SUPER REAL ME' on music platforms at 6 PM, marking their debut. Along with the album release, the music video for the title track 'Magnetic' will also be unveiled.

ILLIT is the third girl group introduced by HYBE, following LE SSERAFIM and NewJeans. They are the first girl group created by Belift Lab, the agency behind ENHYPEN.

Selected through JTBC's 'R U NEXT?' aired last year, the group consists of five members: Korean nationals Yoona (20), Minju (20), Wonhee (17), and Japanese nationals Moka (20) and Iroha (16). The average age of ILLIT is 18.6 years.

The team name 'ILLIT' combines the independent and progressive will (I WILL) with the pronoun representing something special (IT). Belift Lab introduced the name as embodying the potential of a group that "can become anything and is expected to become something great," depending on the verb placed between the two words.

The album includes a total of four tracks: the title song 'Magnetic,' 'My World,' 'Midnight Fiction,' and 'Lucky Girl Syndrome.' HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk ("hitman" bang) participated in producing all the tracks.

Produced by Chairman Bang, Slow Rabbit, and Martin, 'Magnetic' is a dance track blending Pluggnb and House genres, metaphorically comparing the heart racing towards a loved one to a magnet. The lyrics cleverly include the phrase "super attraction." It features arpeggio synths and dynamic bass, delivering a strong rhythmic feel, complemented by a bouncy melody.

The opening track 'My World' expresses the world that ILLIT sees, experiences, and feels, characterized by mysterious and unique melodies. It was produced by Albin Tengblad, who has worked with groups like Oh My Girl and on songs such as 'Real Love.'

'Midnight Fiction,' produced by Noh Joo-hwan, is a modern pop song rhythmically portraying ILLIT's restless dawn filled with quirky imaginations. Its dreamy melody line and rapidly evolving psychedelic sounds enhance the excitement. 'Lucky Girl Syndrome,' produced by Stint, is a dance pop track featuring playful whistle sounds and an overall refreshing melody, previewing ILLIT's 'positive power.'

Belift Lab explained, "Through the mini album 'SUPER REAL ME,' ILLIT conveys the message that 'my true story is the best story.' They honestly express their emotions and reveal their thoughts and daily lives as they are, embodying the realness of today's teenagers." They added, "The group also showcases the curiosity about the world, the straightforward heart pursuing what they love, and the quirky imaginations they have when alone, portraying the freedom of teenagers."

ILLIT will kick off their official activities by holding their debut show 'ILLIT : I'LL (SHOW) IT,' simultaneously broadcast at 7 PM on Mnet, M2, and HYBE Labels' official YouTube channel.
