GLLUGA Co., Ltd. (CEO Ki-hyun Yoo) announced that its nail brand OHORA will officially enter Walmart, the largest retailer in the United States, starting this March, following its entry into Target.

Following its entry into Target, a leading large-scale retail chain in the U.S. last February, OHORA is expanding aggressively into the U.S. market by entering Walmart, the largest retailer in the country. This move is expected to serve as an opportunity to take a step closer to becoming a global nail brand.

Walmart, headquartered in the U.S., is the world's largest retailer, with sales reaching $648.1 billion (approximately 863 trillion KRW) last year, marking about 6% growth compared to the previous year. It currently operates about 4,700 offline stores across the U.S. and plans to add 150 more stores within the next five years. Walmart's online sales also grew rapidly, reaching $5.34 billion last year, a 3.4-fold increase over four years. The company is strengthening its online platform competitiveness by expanding online product offerings, enhancing fulfillment services, and acquiring smart TV manufacturer Vizio to boost its advertising business.

OHORA's entry into Walmart is unusual in that it simultaneously launched in about 2,000 offline stores as well as the online mall from the start. This contrasts with most Korean brands, which typically begin Walmart entry limited to online channels. After initially entering the U.S. market through its own e-commerce sales channel, OHORA quickly grew based on voluntary recommendations from U.S. consumers. Walmart, the largest U.S. retailer, appears to have evaluated OHORA's growth potential, brand value, and customer experience very positively, leading to offline store sales.

Director Gong Yoo-seok of OHORA's Global Business Division, who led the Walmart entry, said, "Walmart is deeply integrated into daily life, with 90% of Americans living within 16 km (10 miles) of a Walmart offline store. It is known that about 160 million customers visit Walmart’s online mall and offline stores weekly, making it the largest revenue-generating retailer in the U.S." He added, "Securing Walmart’s approximately 2,000 stores and online mall as sales channels is truly remarkable for a K-beauty brand. As a global nail brand already selling in about 27 countries worldwide, OHORA will lead the way in promoting K-beauty brands across the U.S."

To coincide with its Walmart entry, OHORA has planned a customized product for U.S. consumers called the "OHORA Starter Kit Set," exclusively sold at Walmart. The Starter Kit Set includes OHORA’s signature designs, various colored nail products, and a gel lamp, allowing anyone to easily enjoy nail art anytime and anywhere. Additionally, seven exclusive OHORA designs, reflecting U.S. consumers’ tastes and preferences, will soon be introduced.
