Produced by Air Force Headquarters Media Content Division Soldiers
Popular Channel with 170,000 Subscribers and 100 Million Total Views

The 1 minute and 13 seconds long video titled 'BOMByanggang (BOMBYanggang)' uploaded on the Republic of Korea Air Force's YouTube channel surpassed 400,000 views just two days after its release.

On the 23rd, Captain Kim Yong-hwi, who is in charge of managing the Air Force's social media services (SNS) and content planning under the Media Content Division of the Air Force Headquarters, expressed his gratitude to viewers in a phone interview with Yonhap News Agency, saying, "We did not expect the video to gain this much popularity when we made it."

As singer BIBI's song 'Bamyanggang' plays, a fighter jet equipped with weapons that do not match the song's mood flies by, and with the poignant lyrics "The days I spent with you have ended," the fighter jet launches a missile. This video was created by Sergeant Kang Dong-jae from the same division and other affiliated personnel.

They said that while humming BIBI's 'Bamyanggang,' they thought it would be good to parody it by connecting 'Bam' (night) with 'bomb.'

Captain Kim stated, "While presenting the video in a fun and soft manner on the surface, we want to convey that there is a strong Air Force power that deters war internally," adding, "I feel proud that many people recognize this."

Among domestic public institution YouTube channels, the Air Force-operated channel holds a remarkably high number of views and subscribers. Since opening the channel in May 2010, they have uploaded 940 videos, and as of December last year, the cumulative views exceeded 100 million. The subscriber count also reaches 170,000.

They previously succeeded in gaining popularity with the parody video 'Remilitaryble,' which spoofed the musical film 'Les Mis?rables' 11 years ago, accumulating 6.6 million views.

Other popular videos include 'A Day in the Life of an Air Force Cook,' which depicts a cook's day through 10 seconds of screams and gestures, and 'Air Force Work Songs Vol.1,' a fast playback medley of Air Force military songs.

Captain Kim emphasized that the most important factor when producing content is 'fun.' No matter how good a policy is, it can only succeed if it captures the public's interest.

He added, "I work with the mindset of reporting to the public," and asked for continued anticipation, saying, "We will approach with entertaining content, so please look forward to it."
