Daejeon City Receives 'Excellent' Rating for Two Consecutive Years in Active Administration Comprehensive Evaluation

Daejeon City announced on the 13th that it has been selected as an excellent institution for two consecutive years in the "2023 Local Government Proactive Administration Comprehensive Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

Daejeon City is the only special/metropolitan city nationwide to be selected as an excellent institution for two consecutive years. In the comprehensive evaluation, Daejeon City received high scores in multiple indicators including ▲efforts of the head of the institution ▲performance in utilizing proactive administration systems ▲selection of outstanding public officials and granting of incentives ▲evaluation of excellent proactive administration cases ▲education and publicity achievements.

In particular, it stood out in the field of creating proactive administration achievements by the head of the institution. First, the presentation of a vision for proactive administration, such as innovation of inefficient regulations and improvement of working methods and organizational culture, received positive evaluations.

Additionally, Daejeon City explained that the establishment of a pre-consulting and core project task force, and the building of a proactive administration promotion system that swiftly and systematically resolves municipal issues and various regulatory problems, also influenced its selection as an excellent institution.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety conducts proactive administration evaluations annually and awards commendations and special grants to local governments with outstanding results.

Mayor Lee Jang-woo of Daejeon City said, "Being selected as an excellent institution for two consecutive years in the proactive administration comprehensive evaluation proves that the 8th elected administration is producing visible administrative achievements through proactive administration and innovative policy decisions. Daejeon City will continue to strive to become a first-class economic city where all citizens can feel proud."
