Gimje-si Recruiting 'Leased Smart Farm Young Farmers'... Until the 22nd

Appropriate Rent for 3 Years... Reduced Initial Investment Burden

Jeonbuk Gimje City (Mayor Jeong Seong-ju) is recruiting young farmers to move into the Gimje Smart Farm Innovation Valley rental smart farm (4.4ha) by the 22nd, supporting youth startups dreaming of future agriculture.

According to the city on the 12th, the 'Gimje Smart Farm Innovation Valley' is South Korea's first smart farm innovation valley. It was selected as a project target in 2018, with a total project cost of 82.9 billion KRW invested from 2019 to November 2021.

The completed scale is 21.3ha (8.8ha of facilities), consisting of a youth startup incubation center (2.3ha), rental smart farm (4.5ha), demonstration complex (1.6ha), and big data center (0.4ha).

The eligibility criteria for applying to the rental smart farm, the startup mecca, is youth aged between 18 and under 40 years old holding South Korean nationality as of the selection year. This recruitment scale is for a total of 3 teams with 3 members each, up to 9 people.

Greenhouse residents sign a basic 3-year lease contract. Rent applies a special case for cultivating public property, costing about 250,000 KRW per person annually, providing a great opportunity for young farmers moving in.

The selection process is evaluated by a combined score of documents (30%), written test (30%), and interview (40%). The written test will be held simultaneously at four smart farm innovation valleys nationwide on the 4th of next month.

Document evaluation will be in early April, interview evaluation in May, and final successful candidates will be announced in early June. For more details, refer to the notices section on the Gimje City website.
