Korea Sports Stacking Association Announces Recruitment for '3rd University Ambassador Program'

The non-profit organization Korea Sports Stacking Association (WSSA KOREA) is recruiting the 3rd generation of the ‘2024-25 Speed Stacks Season University Ambassadors [SSUA].’

The University Ambassadors [SSUA] can experience the sports industry firsthand by participating in various supporter activities such as event staff and promotional support during the May season opening of the indoor sport ‘Sports Stacking,’ which is safe and enjoyable for people of all ages.

The 3rd generation of Sports Stacking University Ambassadors [SSUA] will engage in various activities at nationwide school sports club sites and at the national team selection event for the 2024 WSSA Asian Open Sports Stacking Championship international competition, held in Malaysia from November 29 to December 1, 2024.

Kim Youngseo, a sophomore in the Department of Social Welfare at Gyeongsang National University, who was active as a 2nd generation Stacking Ambassador, said, “The staff activities at the ‘2023 WSSA Gwangju Asian Open Championship’ international competition held at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Seo-gu, Gwangju, in November 2023, were an unforgettable experience. It was amazing to see 350 participants from 11 countries, ranging from students to seniors over 70 years old, enjoying the event together. I plan to apply again next year.”

This 3rd generation of Sports Stacking University Ambassadors [SSUA] will operate with added on-site training through volunteering or coaching needed in promotion and school/education settings, providing a sports instructor education program to enhance understanding of stacking and experience in the sports industry field.

Applications will close at the end of this month (March 31), followed by interviews, and successful candidates will be announced on April 12. The Korea Sports Stacking Association will provide a monthly stipend to the ambassadors. The activity period lasts until the end of October, when the WSSA Asian Open National Team Challenge concludes, and participants will receive a certificate of completion based on their activities.

Park Sanghee, Secretary General of the Korea Sports Stacking Association, stated, “Sports Stacking, which can be safely enjoyed indoors by people of all ages, has about 50 scheduled competitions including events for people with disabilities, senior competitions, school sports clubs, and international tournaments.” He added, “Since university students majoring in sports-related fields can directly experience the sports industry on-site and have high satisfaction, we ask for many applications and participation in this 3rd generation as well.”

Registration for the 2024-25 Speed Stacks Challenge continues until April 30 ahead of the season opening. Season challenge registration eliminates the need for players to pay competition fees each time by providing support funds for national team players’ participation in international competitions (sponsored by Speed Stacks Korea), offering motivation and administrative simplification for athletes challenging to become national representatives.
