JNBY is showing strong performance. This is interpreted as being influenced by the news that KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor surpassing NVIDIA through Samsung's 28nm process.
As of 10:41 AM on the 7th, JNBY is trading at 9,990 KRW, up 5.38% compared to the previous day.
According to the industry, the Ministry of Science and ICT announced that the research team led by Professor Yoo Hoi-jun of the KAIST Graduate School of AI Semiconductor and the KAIST PIM Semiconductor Research Center have developed the world's first AI semiconductor called the ‘Complementary Transformer’ that can process large language models (LLM) in just 0.4 seconds while consuming ultra-low power of 400mW (milliwatts).
The Complementary Transformer implements human brain neurons in a semiconductor to enable AI functions. The transformer is a neural network that tracks relationships within data, such as words in a sentence, to learn context and meaning, and it is the core technology behind ChatGPT.
It is known that using this Complementary Transformer can reduce power consumption by 625 times compared to NVIDIA's GPU (A100). The industry expects that since the Complementary Transformer was developed through Samsung Electronics' 28nm process, once its completeness is enhanced and commercialization begins, it could pioneer a new AI semiconductor market.
Meanwhile, JNBY is a specialized company in manufacturing vacuum equipment for semiconductors and producing ultra-precision machining parts. After developing the 'stacker system' in 2003, it has been recognized as a standard within Samsung Electronics' production lines for 20 years. It is also known that the design and manufacturing of the stacker system to be applied to Samsung Electronics' semiconductor factory in Austin, Texas, USA, which produces power semiconductors and communication semiconductors for IT devices using the 28nm process, have been completed.
