Dong-A University Software Innovation Center Hosts 'Busan SW-Centered University Workshop'

Joint Efforts to Expand the SW Ecosystem, Foster Talent, and Contribute to the Local Economy

The Software Innovation Center at Dong-A University (Director Professor Seokhwan Lee) held the ‘2024 Busan SW-Centered Universities Workshop’.

Dong-A University Software Innovation Center hosted the 2024 Busan SW-Centered University Workshop.

The workshop, co-hosted by Dong-A University, Dongmyung University, Dongseo University, and Pusan National University, took place at the Busan Paradise Hotel with attendees including Director Lee from Dong-A University, Director Mikyung Jo from Dongmyung University, Director Mikyung Moon from Dongseo University, and Director Yoonjoo Baek from Pusan National University, representing the SW-Centered University project teams of the four universities.

The workshop was organized to share innovative educational methods in the software (SW) field among the selected SW-centered universities in Busan, to lead joint projects, and to explore ways to collaboratively nurture SW talent in Busan.

During the workshop, the four universities discussed expanding the Busan SW ecosystem, contributing to the local economy, exchanging knowledge in SW education, and exploring ways to respond to the regional characteristics and needs of Busan.

Additionally, these universities agreed to strengthen closer cooperation among local communities, industries, and universities to promote regional economic and technological development.

Previously, in November of last year, the four universities signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly expand the SW ecosystem, nurture talent, and contribute to the regional economy.

Dong-A University was selected as a ‘2023 Software (SW) Centered University’ by the Ministry of Science and ICT, with Software Innovation Center Director Seokhwan Lee as the person in charge, receiving a total project budget of 18 billion KRW over eight years to innovate software and artificial intelligence education and to cultivate core AI and SW talent.
