Kakao announced on the 28th that the cumulative number of digital card service 'Tokhaksaengjeung' issued surpassed 800,000 as of last year.
Tokhaksaengjeung is a simple verification service for enrollment and graduation information provided in the KakaoTalk Wallet. It can be issued based on the user's identity information verified through the Kakao certificate and official academic records obtained in connection with university certificate agencies.
Current university students or graduates can use Tokhaksaengjeung in situations requiring student verification both online and offline, or receive various discount benefits through issuing Tokhaksaengjeung, such as KakaoPay university student membership and exclusive discounts for Kakao Shopping.
Kakao has completed additional contracts with university certificate agencies this month, allowing students from 21 universities including Seoul National University and Inha University to issue Tokhaksaengjeung. With this additional contract, Tokhaksaengjeung is now available to students and graduates of over 400 universities nationwide.
Furthermore, discount benefits for users who have issued Tokhaksaengjeung will continue to expand. Additionally, users can access brand-exclusive welfare malls and exclusive discount products.
