Mu-hyup Appoints Former Deputy Minister of Industry Lee In-ho as New Full-time Vice Chairman

Experience with THAAD retaliation by China and trade with the US Trump administration
Selection Committee: "The right candidate to support KITA in uncertain times"

The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) announced on the 28th that it held an executive selection committee meeting and appointed former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Lee In-ho, as the full-time Vice Chairman.

The newly appointed Vice Chairman passed the 31st Administrative Examination and entered public service in 1987. He served as Director General of the Creative Industry Bureau, Director of the Trade and Investment Office, and Deputy Minister for Trade at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and served as Vice Minister of the Ministry in 2017. He then served as President of the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation from 2019 until January of this year.


The KITA selection committee stated, "The new Vice Chairman has extensive experience in various fields including trade and commerce, industry, and energy over more than 30 years of public service." They added, "He is a trade expert who has handled major trade issues such as China's THAAD retaliation and trade negotiations with the Trump administration in the United States, making him the right person to support the trade industry during a time of heightened domestic and international uncertainties."
