Concrete Collaboration of GTAA Including Deutsche Telekom
Providing Various AI Services with Telco LLM
Introducing AI Assistant A.Dot and Startup Collaboration Details
SK Telecom is concretizing its collaboration within the alliance 'Global Telco AI Alliance (GTAA)', formed together with global telecom companies on the occasion of the mobile expo 'MWC 2024'.
SKT will set up a solo exhibition hall at MWC 2024, held over four days from the 26th in Barcelona, Spain, showcasing various artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
First, through GTAA, launched last July with Germany's Deutsche Telekom, UAE's e&, and Singapore's Singtel, SKT will materialize AI business cooperation. The founding members of GTAA, with about 1.3 billion subscribers across 50 countries worldwide, plan to collaborate on developing telecom-specialized large language models (LLMs) based on economies of scale.
SKT will accelerate its vision for GTAA through MWC while also speeding up its transformation into a global AI company.
At this MWC stage, SKT plans to utilize specialized LLMs trained on telecom industry logic and knowledge across various areas such as new services, customer management, and marketing.
SKT will showcase multiple application cases based on telco LLMs, including ▲AI Contact Center (AICC) for customer support ▲virtual agents implemented with chatbots ▲AI-based spam and smishing filtering systems. It will also introduce technology collaborations with global startups such as Allganize and Humain.
Additionally, SKT will share the results of innovations achieved in the communication domain through its AI personal assistant 'Aidot'. Since its official launch in September last year, Aidot has added several services including call recording and summarization features, surpassing 3.4 million subscribers as of this month.

Various AI-based network infrastructure technologies will also be introduced. In particular, key technologies related to AI data centers (DC), considered one of the cores of future AI infrastructure, will be demonstrated. Technologies attracting visitors' attention are expected to include 'liquid cooling', regarded as a next-generation data center thermal management method, AI semiconductor Sapion, and AI DC security technologies.
In collaboration with Joby Aviation, SKT will create an experience space featuring a full-scale urban air mobility (UAM) vehicle. Visitors can experience a flight on the Gimpo Airport-Walkerhill route through a large front LED screen.
At the promising startup exhibition hall '4YFN (4 Years from Now)', SKT will also share collaboration cases with 15 AI startups. SKT plans to continuously support these startups, armed with innovative ideas, to grow and enter the global stage.
Park Kyu-hyun, Vice President and Head of Digital Comm at SKT, said, "This exhibition will present SKT's vision for the 'Telco AI World' and showcase the tangible achievements of GTAA on the global stage. We hope to widely promote SKT's advanced AI technologies through MWC."
