The Korea Information Security Industry Association (KISIA) announced on the 22nd that Cho Young-chul, CEO of Pionix, was elected as the 17th president of the association.
On the same day, the association held its 28th regular general meeting at the Kensington Hotel in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and made this decision through the board of directors.
President Cho is an information security expert who has been leading the network and security specialized company Pionix for 25 years. He emphasized, "For South Korea's information security industry to take a leap forward, the government, industry, academia, and security demanders must all work together to strengthen the foundation of the information security industry."
At the event, the 'Cyber Sovereignty Protection Award,' jointly established by the association and the Korea Institute of Information Security & Cryptology, was also presented.
This year's Cyber Sovereignty Protection Award was given to Seo Sam-seok, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, Professor Ryu Jae-cheol of Chungnam National University, and Kim Cheol-woong, president of the Financial Security Institute.
