[Harumanbo Harucheonja] Yeouinaru Station's 'Donation Running' Accumulating Donations While Running

An event will be held where simply running around the Yeouido area can accumulate donations for socially vulnerable groups.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that until April 30, it will conduct the "Relay Donation Challenge Run" together with 78 running crews active nationwide. Running crews are groups that run together in urban areas based on region, age, and target group, and are becoming a new culture of community sports.

In this Challenge Run, 78 running crews active across the country, including WAUSAN30 and SRC Running Crew, will participate sequentially. The crew participating in the run designates the next crew to continue the donation run.

Donations are provided by LG Electronics at 100 KRW per kilometer. Completing the 8.4 km course accumulates 840 KRW. The donations will be used for community sports programs for people with disabilities and those vulnerable to exercise.

The course is an 8.4 km route starting from Yeouinaru Station Event Plaza, passing Yeouirojang, Seoul Marina, Saetgang Ecological Park pedestrian overpass, Yeoui 2 Bridge, Seoul Bridge, Observatory Maru, across from Yeouido 5th Parking Lot, Yeoui Sangryu IC Intersection, Yeouido Hangang Park Folk Playground, and returning to Yeouinaru Station Event Plaza.

Seoul plans to provide a QR code at the Yeouinaru Station Event Plaza starting in May so that any citizen visiting the event site can participate in the donation run.

In April, the "Runner Station" will open at Yeouinaru Station in Seoul to help any citizen visiting the Hangang River comfortably enjoy running. It is a facility with running-related conveniences such as lockers and changing rooms, as well as an educational space where running-related information can be exchanged and coaching videos can be viewed. The Runner Station is part of the "Subway Station Innovation Project" announced by the Seoul Metropolitan Government last January to transform subway stations into cultural spaces. Starting with the Yeouinaru Station Runner Station, four underground spaces in areas including Sindang Station, City Hall Station, and Munjeong Station will be reborn as cultural spaces.
