China's famous hot pot chain Haidilao experienced rapid sales growth last year thanks to the transition to With-Corona.
On the 21st, China's Pengpai News reported that Haidilao's sales last year reached 41.4 billion yuan (approximately 7.6859 trillion KRW), a 33% increase compared to the previous year. During the same period, net profit surged 168.3% to 4.4 billion yuan.
Haidilao explained, "The increase in sales is due to the lifting of epidemic control measures and the increase in customer inflow following economic recovery."

The company introduced more than 300 new products this year and opened various types of stores, including campus and camping-style outlets. They developed street vendor-style stores, strengthened late-night menus, and newly offered services such as hair washing, which received positive responses from consumers.

Haidilao, which started in Sichuan Province in 1994, actively opened branches overseas, including in Korea, fueled by local popularity. However, it was hit by China's stringent zero-COVID policy amid the spread of COVID-19, leading to the closure of 300 stores through restructuring in 2021.
However, last year, as the government declared With-Corona, Haidilao resumed operations of 24 temporarily closed stores in the first half of the year and opened 5 new stores. As of the end of June last year, Haidilao operates 1,360 stores in mainland China. There are also 22 stores in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
