Gyeonggi Fire Department Supports 48 Households with 140 Million Won through 'Warm Companion Gyeonggi119' Project Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters

The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters has reportedly supported a total of 48 households with approximately 140 million won through the 'Warm Companionship Gyeonggi 119' project. Recently, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters selected and assisted 15 households affected by fire damage and those with disabilities.

'Warm Companionship Gyeonggi 119' is a project that helps neighbors in difficult circumstances by utilizing funds voluntarily raised by Gyeonggi-do firefighters and volunteer fire brigade members. Participating members contribute 1,190 won daily.

Mr. A, selected as a beneficiary, lost his precious family in an instant due to a sudden fire in his apartment earlier this year and is currently receiving hospital treatment after inhaling smoke. To make matters worse, the apartment he lived in was completely destroyed by the fire, causing financial difficulties with housing restoration and medical expenses.

Mr. B, in his 50s, has a spouse who has been undergoing kidney dialysis for nine years and suffers from cancer and diabetes himself. They live in public permanent rental housing, but face a heavy financial burden due to medical bills and rent.

Six-year-old Miss C has brain lesions and visual impairment and is currently receiving outpatient and home treatment. Miss C’s father works as a day laborer cleaner, and her mother takes care of her, but they have applied for personal rehabilitation due to the rapidly increasing medical expenses they cannot afford.

Over the past year, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters has raised about 290 million won in funds through 'Warm Companionship Gyeonggi 119.' Participation continues with donations from local companies and organizations, as well as various awards received by firefighters for their work performance.

Through the Warm Companionship Gyeonggi 119 project, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters has supported a total of 48 households with over 140 million won to date.

Cho Sun-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, said, "Although the amount is small, we feel rewarded to be able to help socially vulnerable people in blind spots even a little by gathering sincerity," adding, "We plan to continuously increase the number of beneficiaries in the future."
