On the 7th, the Estonian Tourist Board held a B2B tourism event inviting media and stakeholders at the Estonia Business Hub in Seoul Square, Jung-gu, Seoul, stating, "Through deeper exchanges with Korea, we aim to open the door to revitalizing the tourism industries of both countries in 2024-2025."
The Estonian Tourist Board’s event in Korea was held ahead of Japan, which is interpreted as a result of the rapid increase in Korean tourists visiting Estonia. According to the board, about 4,000 Koreans traveled to Estonia from January to November last year, doubling compared to the previous year.
Sten ?uvede, the Estonian Ambassador to Korea, emphasized, "Estonia is one of the safest countries in Europe to travel to, with well-preserved historical cultural heritage and diverse natural environments. Although most Korean travelers currently visit the Estonian capital Tallinn briefly before moving on to other Nordic and Baltic countries, Estonia has enough charm to stay for a long time."
Agnia Næst, the Estonian Tourist Board’s Asia Regional Manager, introduced Estonia’s attractive destinations. She highlighted various travel spots including the capital Tallinn and Tartu, the second-largest city and the 2024 European Capital of Culture selected by the European Commission.
Starting with this event, the board will hold the 'Baltic Connecting' event in May. In particular, the 'Baltic Roadshow,' targeting Asian markets including Korea, will be held from July 17 to 19, with the opening ceremony on the 17th in Seoul.
The board announced that this event will serve as a turning point to enhance exchanges between Korea and Estonia and to revitalize the tourism industries of both countries in 2024-2025.
