On the 8th, the Korea Nuclear Industry Association announced that it held an opening ceremony for the Nuclear Power Industry Policy Research Center on the 9th floor of Central Tower in Seoul, with the participation of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Korea Nuclear Industry Association, Doosan Enerbility, and Susan Group.

Established as an organization under the Nuclear Industry Association, the Nuclear Power Industry Policy Research Center will serve as a private think tank and conduct policy research on current issues across the nuclear power industry.

The Nuclear Power Industry Policy Research Center will undertake ▲ policy research to promote the expansion of nuclear power use, nuclear hydrogen, and future technology development ▲ research on nuclear power regulation issues and system improvements ▲ policy proposals and legislative support activities for the nuclear power industry ▲ analysis of global nuclear policy information and international joint research to strengthen nuclear power export competitiveness.

Ahn Se-jin, Director of the Nuclear Power Industry Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, emphasized that since broadening the foundation to support the government's nuclear power policy implementation is urgent, the center is expected to play an important role in areas such as investigation, research, education, and analysis of current issues across the nuclear power industry.

Hwang Ju-ho, Chairman of the Korea Nuclear Industry Association, explained that major overseas nuclear power countries have similar institutions that support government policy formulation and represent the nuclear power industry to carry out system improvement roles, and said, "We expect the center to contribute to leading the sustainable development of the nuclear power industry amid internal and external environmental changes by providing reasonable policy research representing the nuclear power industry's position."
