Jeonbuk National University Hospital and Korea Organ and Tissue Donation Agency Join Hands to Promote Organ Donation

Joint Advancement in the Field of Organ Transplantation Medicine

Jeonbuk National University Hospital (Director Yoo Hee-cheol) and the Korea Organ Donation Agency (KODA) have signed a business agreement to promote organ donation and jointly develop the field of organ transplantation medicine.


According to Jeonbuk National University Hospital on the 31st, the signing ceremony held on the 29th at Ongoeul Hall on the 2nd floor of the main building was attended by key officials including Director Yoo Hee-cheol, Deputy Director of Transplantation, and Director Hwang Hong-pil of the Organ Transplantation Center from Jeonbuk National University Hospital, as well as Director Moon In-seong, Headquarters Director Lee Jeong-rim, Headquarters Director Ryu Kang-hee, and Branch Director Chu Min-young from the Korea Organ Donation Agency.

Through this agreement, the two organizations will mutually cooperate in ▲ actively identifying potential brain-dead donors and establishing a rapid communication system ▲ promptly determining brain death and efficiently managing cases without transporting brain-dead organ donors ▲ guaranteeing the acquisition of medical information for donation and cooperating in administrative support for treatment ▲ actively cooperating when transportation of potential brain-dead donors is necessary for donation, promptly determining brain death, and efficiently managing cases.


Director Moon In-seong stated, "Organ donation is a valuable and beautiful act that saves new lives," adding, "We will spread a culture of sharing life that signals another beginning at the end of life and deliver hope for life."


Director Yoo Hee-cheol said, "We have continuously made efforts to activate organ donation through active identification and management of potential brain-dead donors," and added, "We expect this to greatly contribute to the development of organ transplantation medicine by fostering interest and positive awareness of organ donation."
