9.4 Cans Sold Per Second... HiteJinro's 'Filite' Surpasses 2 Billion Cans in Total Sales

Sparkling Beer Brand... 81 Months Since Launch in 2017
Scheduled 4.5% Price Reduction from Next Month 1st

HiteJinro announced on the 25th that its sparkling beer brand, Filite, has surpassed a cumulative sales volume of 2 billion cans. Since the product was first launched on April 25, 2017, this means that 9.4 cans have been sold every second over 6 years and 9 months.

Filite has maintained the number one market share in the sparkling beer segment of the home liquor market for seven consecutive years. Promoting cost-effectiveness with the slogan "12 cans for 10,000 won," it uses 100% domestically grown barley and leads the domestic sparkling beer market.


As a result, 100 million cans were sold within seven months of launch, and cumulative sales exceeded 1 billion cans in 41 months, continuing its growth trend. The company explained that Filite’s sales speed is currently about 1.78 times faster compared to its early launch period.


HiteJinro has introduced various limited edition products of Filite. Following Filite and Filite Fresh, the company successively launched Filite Weizen in 2019, Filite Radler Lemon in 2020, Filite Radler Grapefruit in 2021, Filite Cherry in 2022, and Filite Purine Cut and Filite Low Calorie in 2023.


Oh Seong-taek, Executive Director of Marketing at HiteJinro, stated, "As the number one sparkling beer brand, we will continue to maintain our unique position and lead the home liquor market through diverse consumer engagement activities. We plan to introduce products with various flavors and functionalities going forward."


Meanwhile, HiteJinro will reduce the ex-factory price of Filite products starting from the 1st of next month in accordance with the government’s introduction of a standard sales ratio. The affected products are Filite and Filite Fresh, with a price reduction rate of 4.5%.
