Gyeonggi Fire Department Receives Over 200 Stories in One Week for Home Fire Safety Equipment Giveaway Event

Gyeonggi Fire Department Receives Over 200 Stories in One Week for Home Fire Safety Equipment Giveaway Event Poster for the Residential Fire Safety Equipment Giveaway Event Hosted by the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters

The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters has received over 200 stories in just one week for the event aimed at distributing residential fire safety equipment.

The Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 23rd that 205 stories had been submitted by the 22nd for the residential fire safety equipment distribution event, which began on the 16th.

The Fire and Disaster Headquarters is holding the "Residential Fire Safety Equipment Distribution Event," collecting stories from residents until February 29th to install fire extinguishers and fire alarms in homes.

Any resident of Gyeonggi-do can participate in this event. To enter, participants can scan the QR code on the promotional poster using their mobile phones or download the application form from the Fire and Disaster Headquarters website (119.gg.go.kr) and send a story of about 700 characters via email (skjms0000@gg.go.kr). On-site submissions are also accepted at nearby fire stations.

Stories can include reasons for wanting to gift residential fire safety equipment to parents or elderly family members, experiences of receiving help from Gyeonggi Fire Services, or participation in past fire safety song contests and fire prevention poster contests (from 1975 to 2010).

In March, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters will select outstanding stories and install three fire alarms, one fire extinguisher, and one aerosol-type fire extinguisher per household for up to 400 single-family and multi-family homes (excluding apartments and dormitories).

Jo Seon-ho, head of the Fire and Disaster Headquarters, said, "We sincerely thank the residents for their great interest and love, with over 200 applications received in just one week during the month-and-a-half-long event period. We hope for continued interest and participation from residents to create a safe Gyeonggi-do and happy families."
