On the 17th (local time), Samsung Electronics MX Division President (CEO) No Tae-moon shared this ambition at a press conference following the Galaxy Unpacked event held in the United States. This is interpreted as part of Samsung Electronics’ strategy to fully integrate AI technology into the Galaxy series to enhance user experience and strengthen competitiveness in the global market.
President No stated, "Galaxy AI advocates a ‘hybrid AI’ approach that appropriately utilizes both on-device and cloud-based AI technologies," and emphasized, "Samsung Electronics will provide Galaxy AI to about 100 million mobile devices in 2024 to contribute to the global expansion of mobile AI."
He added, "With unprecedented innovative user experiences, we expect the Galaxy S24 series to achieve double-digit sales growth compared to its predecessor." This means anticipating sales exceeding those of the Galaxy S23 models by more than 10%.
Samsung Electronics plans to expand the application of ‘Galaxy AI’ not only to the newly unveiled Galaxy S24 series but also to some existing models through software updates this year.
President No also expressed confidence that Galaxy AI will lead the ‘era of AI phones.’
He said, "Mobile will become the most important touchpoint for AI, and mobile AI will continuously innovate customer experiences with greater usability," emphasizing, "Galaxy AI will set global standards and help regain growth momentum centered on the premium segment."
He expressed ambitions to expand Samsung Electronics’ AI ecosystem beyond mobile to TVs, home appliances, automobiles, and various other devices, and to continuously grow the AI market through collaboration with other companies.
Regarding this year’s business strategy, President No responded, "Although various challenges to the global economy persist this year, Samsung Electronics will continue business growth by focusing on flagship products such as the Galaxy S series and the foldable series."
