The Galaxy S24 series, unveiled alongside Samsung's ambition to usher in the 'Mobile AI Phone Era,' embodies a convenient daily life shaped by AI technology.

It promises users fresh experiences through AI technology, offering not only real-time translation and interpretation but also search, camera, and photo and video editing capabilities.

Seamless Restaurant Reservations Abroad... Real-Time Translation and Interpretation via AI

First, the language barrier has been broken down with the real-time translation and interpretation feature. It supports as many as 13 languages, allowing users to expand their life’s scope beyond borders without language constraints. For example, when booking a restaurant or hotel abroad, there is no longer a need to create foreign language sentences in a translation application and then read them again.

By simply pressing the call app on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and tapping the 'Call Assist' button on the outgoing call screen, then clicking 'Real-Time Interpretation,' Koreans and foreigners can naturally converse over the phone without a separate app. This is a new feature implemented in the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is based on 'On-Device AI.' Even when users speaking different languages make phone calls, real-time two-way interpretation services enable free communication. Real-time interpretation is performed based on 'On-Device AI' and can be used without going through the cloud.

Since AI operates within the device to produce results, it can be used even when not connected to the internet. There is no risk of call content being exposed outside the phone, allowing users to use it securely without privacy concerns. Supported languages include Korean, Chinese (Simplified), English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese?13 languages in total.

Search Completed by Simply Drawing a Circle Without a Portal Search Bar

The Circle to Search feature, developed in collaboration with Google, has also been introduced for the first time. The cumbersome process of opening a portal search bar to look up desired content is eliminated. By long-pressing the home button and drawing a circle or underlining an image or word on the screen, a search for the desired subject is performed.

For example, if you discover an interesting landmark on social media and draw a circle around the image, an overview of information including the name, location, and history is provided. If you continue with additional questions such as 'the best time to visit that city' using the search bar, you can receive answers as well. This is made possible by 'Gemini,' a generative AI developed by Google.

Stable Shooting in Any Environment with AI-Based Engine

AI features have also been integrated into the camera. Equipped with an AI-based 'Pro Visual Engine,' it delivers stable image quality from zoom functions to 'Nightography.' Especially in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the series’ first 'Quad Tele System' offers optical-level high resolution at 2x, 3x, 5x, and 10x zoom. The new 50-megapixel adaptive pixel sensor supporting 5x zoom and AI technology provide stable results at any shooting distance, including 10x zoom. The 100x Space Zoom also captures distant subjects clearly with enhanced digital zoom quality.

The Nightography feature has improved further, allowing clean and shake-free photos and videos even when using zoom in low-light nighttime environments. Notably, the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 5x optical zoom camera is equipped with pixels sized approximately 1.4 micrometers?about 60% larger than its predecessor?allowing it to capture more light in dark settings. The OIS supporting a wider angle prevents hand shake and delivers sharp photos and videos. Not only the rear camera but also the front camera is equipped with a dedicated Image Signal Processing (ISP) block that efficiently reduces noise in low-light video shooting environments.

Straighten Tilted Photos... AI Features Also Added to Photo and Video Editing

AI functions are incorporated not only in the camera but also in the 'Gallery' app’s editing features. The 'Edit Suggestions' function edits photos in the most appropriate way. A particularly notable feature is the generative AI-based 'Generative Editing.' Experiences of photos being slightly tilted or backgrounds being cropped out are expected to decrease with the Galaxy S24, as AI fills in missing parts of objects and corrects photos naturally. If you want to move or resize a subject within a photo, simply press and hold the subject.

All images created based on generative AI are marked with a 'watermark.' This allows anyone viewing the image to confirm that it was generated or edited by AI.

Galaxy AI also offers new experiences in video viewing. When applying the 'Instant Slo-mo' feature to recorded videos, AI generates new frames between existing frames based on the subject’s movement, providing a natural slow-motion playback effect.
