Increase in 'Homecafe-jok' Boosts Popularity of Coffee Purifiers
'Esprecafe' Daily Ice Production 7kg
'Barista Purifier' Equipped with Automatic Drip Module
As the number of ‘home cafe enthusiasts’ who brew coffee at home according to their taste increases, sales of so-called ‘coffee water purifiers’ that combine coffee machines and water purifiers are also rising. The convenience of maintenance and the ability to easily adjust the water temperature, which affects the taste of coffee, have encouraged consumers to open their wallets.
According to Cheongho Nice on the 18th, sales of the ‘Esprecafe’ last month increased by more than 30% compared to the same period last year. Esprecafe is a product that combines the functions of a capsule coffee machine and an ice water purifier. With just the push of a button, it extracts four styles of coffee: espresso, lungo, americano, and soft americano. It also has a daily ice-making capacity of 7 kg, making it convenient to prepare iced americanos.
Cheongho Nice applied a 'carbon block filter' certified by the Water Quality Association (WQA) to maximize the original taste of coffee. This filter can remove more than 99% of microplastics. It is also easy to manage from a hygiene perspective. All areas where coffee from capsules might spill are designed to be cleaned externally.
A representative from Cheongho Nice explained, “Placing an ice water purifier and a coffee machine separately can reduce space efficiency, but Esprecafe enhances space efficiency by combining a capsule coffee machine within a 29 cm width, which is also a factor contributing to its popularity.”
The ‘Inspure Steam 100 Barista Water Purifier’ released by Cuckoo Homesys in October last year is a boiled water purifier with coffee maker functionality. Since its launch, sales have grown by more than 30% monthly on average until December last year. During the same period, online search volume for this product increased by an average of 182% per month, attracting consumer interest.
The Barista Water Purifier has three coffee buttons, allowing users to select concentration, temperature, and volume in three levels each, creating a total of nine recipes. The water temperature can be adjusted to 85?89°C, 90?94°C, or 95?100°C. It is also equipped with a drip module that automatically controls flow rate and speed. This allows for uniform adjustment of water strength and range to make coffee tailored to desired tastes and recipes. Users can choose between a wide or narrow water stream, making it convenient to brew hand-drip coffee.
Hygiene was also carefully considered. The ‘steam sterilization’ function manages bacteria and scale inside and outside the water outlet with steam at about 100°C. The direct water and cold water pipes undergo electrolytic sterilization. Internal sterilization is performed every five days. The filter removes up to 99.9% of norovirus and filters out seven types of heavy metals including mercury, lead, and cadmium. Another advantage is that anyone can easily replace the filter.
