First Official Task of the New Year: Declaration Ceremonies at 20 Sites
Encouraging On-site Workers with Food Truck Event
Bando Construction has set a goal to achieve zero major accidents for six consecutive years. As the first official task of the new year, they inspected safety at construction sites nationwide and encouraged on-site workers.
Bando Construction held the '2024 Safety and Health Policy and Goal Declaration Ceremony for All Sites' on the 16th at an apartment construction site in Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, attended by Lee Jeong-ryeol, Head of Construction Division at Bando Construction.
On the 17th, Bando Construction announced that it held the '2024 Safety and Health Policy and Goal Declaration Ceremony' at 20 apartment construction sites and public construction sites nationwide together with its partner companies.
The declaration ceremony was attended by Bando Construction President Kim Yong-cheol, Lee Jeong-ryeol, Head of the Construction Division, and other headquarters executives, as well as employees from 20 sites nationwide and representatives from partner companies. A joint labor-management inspection was conducted on-site, and a food truck event was held to encourage the on-site workers.
Bando Construction declared its safety and health management policy as "Establishing a safety and health culture with full participation through communication." The safety and health goal was set as "Achieving zero (0) major accidents by implementing changes in safety systems across all activities including organization, systems, processes, quality, and budget."
Bando Construction held a food truck event providing warm cups of fish cake, mini bungeoppang, coffee, and more for on-site workers after the proclamation ceremony.
The company plans to reduce by 30% compared to the previous year the three major causes of accidents (passages, work platforms, formwork props) and the three major types of accidents (falls, trips, collapses). Detailed action plans to prevent major technical accidents and equipment accidents were also established and communicated to executives and partner companies. To support and encourage on-site workers, food trucks were operated and gift boxes containing coffee and donuts were distributed.
Lee Jeong-ryeol, Head of the Construction Division at Bando Construction, said, "This year, through active win-win management with partner companies and changes in safety systems covering all activities from the planning stage to construction and process management at all sites, we will achieve 'zero major accidents for six consecutive years.' I hope that all Bando Construction employees and partner company workers internalize 'safety habits' such as securing safe passages and organizing materials so that a safety and health culture can be firmly established."
