Expansion of Content Scale Following Last Year's Success of 'Moving'
Studio&New, a content production subsidiary of NEW (Next Entertainment World), announced a diverse lineup of dramas and films on the 17th.
Studio&New achieved success last year with the OTT (over-the-top) Disney+ original series 'Moving', JTBC drama 'Doctor Cha Jeong-sook', and the recently concluded Genie TV original 'Say I Love You'. This year, they will release content across various platforms including TV, OTT, and theaters with dramas such as 'Good Boy', 'Good Partner', 'Hwain-ga Scandal', and the film 'Hidden Face'.
'Good Boy', airing on JTBC in the second half of the year, is a comic action youth investigation drama about medalists who became police officers through Olympic special recruitment, wearing police badges instead of medals, fighting against a world full of immorality and cheating. The drama is directed by Shim Na-yeon, who directed 'Bad Mom' (2023) and 'Moment of Eighteen' (2019), with the script written by Lee Dae-il, who wrote 'Chief of Staff' (2019) and 'Life on Mars' (2018). Actors Park Bo-gum and Kim So-hyun star in the lead roles.
'Good Partner' is a cold yet passionate human courtroom office drama about star divorce lawyer Cha Eun-kyung (played by Jang Nara), who treats divorce as her calling, and rookie lawyer Han Yu-ri (played by Nam Ji-hyun), who is new to divorce cases. The script is written by divorce specialist lawyer Choi Yuna, and the drama is directed by Kim Ga-ram, who directed 'Nevertheless' (2021) and 'Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency' (2019). Actors Jang Nara, Nam Ji-hyun, Kim Jun-han, and Pyo Ji-hoon appear in the cast.
'Hwain-ga Scandal', released on Disney+, tells the story of Wan-soo (played by Kim Ha-neul), who dreams of a perfect upper-class life after marrying the heir of Hwain Group, and meets her bodyguard Do-yoon (played by Jung Ji-hoon), who always stays by her side, leading her to confront the secrets of Hwain-ga. The drama is directed by Park Hong-gyun, known for 'New Heart' (2007), 'Queen Seondeok' (2009), and 'The Greatest Love' (2011), with the script written by Choi Yoon-jung, recognized for 'Only Love' (2014) and 'Three Sisters' (2010).

The film 'Hidden Face', the next work by director Kim Dae-woo of 'Obsessed' (2014), is a mystery thriller about a man searching for his fianc?e who disappeared after leaving only a video letter, and encountering shocking secrets related to her. Actors Song Seung-heon, Jo Yeo-jeong, and Park Ji-hyun star in the lead roles.
In addition, upcoming projects in pre-production include 'Annoying Love' (working title), the next work by writer Jung Yeo-rang of 'Doctor Cha Jeong-sook'; the historical romance 'Haeshi's Shinru' based on a mega-hit web novel; the high-teen romance 'Goodbye Sadon' based on a webtoon; 'Yukkotbi Project' (working title), about the first female sales team leader at a liquor company; the palace intrigue drama 'Red Crown'; and the romantic comedy film 'Breathless Love' (working title).
Studio&New stated, "We plan to steadily expand our content supply scale by preparing about 30 titles together with partner companies that can participate in strengthening planning and production capabilities. Based on our secured competitiveness within the industry, we will continue strong content partnerships not only with domestic terrestrial broadcasters and comprehensive programming channels but also with global OTT platforms, and will also develop new IP (intellectual property)-based businesses to enhance profitability."
