Pohang Sarang Gift Certificates 10% Special Discount Sale for Lunar New Year, Supporting the Livelihood Economy

Pohang City will start the first discounted sale of this year's Pohang Love Gift Certificates from the 24th.

This sale is held to help increase sales for small business owners struggling with high inflation and high interest rates during the Lunar New Year holiday, alleviate the financial burden on citizens, and revive the stagnant local economy by issuing 30 billion KRW with a special 10% discount sale.

This event will sell a total of 30 billion KRW, including 20 billion KRW in card and mobile types and 10 billion KRW in paper types, and will automatically end when the budget is exhausted.

The personal discount purchase limit for gift certificates is up to 400,000 KRW per month, combining the Pohang Love Card and paper types, with a maximum purchase of 200,000 KRW for paper gift certificates. The holding limit for the Pohang Love Card is 700,000 KRW, and it is convenient to check the card balance in advance on the mobile app (IM#) before recharging.

The Pohang Love Card can be recharged from 12:15 AM on the mobile app (IM#), and at 105 sales agency locations, Daegu Bank ATMs (49 locations), and self-service counters during business hours. Paper gift certificates can be purchased at 165 sales agency financial institutions.

The sales agency financial institutions can be checked on the Pohang Love Gift Certificates website, and the certificates can be conveniently used at about 20,000 affiliated stores in various industries such as restaurants and service businesses.

Since November last year, the city has expanded offline recharge locations to 105 places as one of the measures to expand card-type gift certificates and provide convenience to citizens who are less familiar with using the mobile app (IM#), resulting in a gradual increase in Pohang Love Card users.

The city plans to revitalize neighborhood commercial districts by expanding the issuance scale of the Pohang Love Card, which is popular among citizens for its ease of use and recharge and can prevent illegal distribution, compared to last year.

To this end, starting with the 10% special discount sale of Pohang Love Gift Certificates for the Lunar New Year, the city plans to issue a total of 200 billion KRW this year, including a regular 7% discount sale, to support small business owners and contribute to revitalizing the local economy.

Additionally, by launching mobile gift certificates, the city aims to expand the selection options for users and promote consumption activation among tourists visiting the region.

Since 2017, the city has issued 1.9945 trillion KRW worth of Pohang Love Gift Certificates over seven years, contributing to establishing a virtuous cycle structure for revitalizing the local economy.
