The 'Climate Companion Card,' which allows unlimited use of public transportation within Seoul for around 60,000 KRW per month, will be piloted starting on the 27th of this month. Additionally, the 'River Bus,' a public transportation service utilizing the Han River, will begin operation in September.
Seoul City announced on the 2nd that it will publish '2024 Changing Seoul Life' on the 3rd, a collection of new information including newly implemented projects this year, upcoming public facility openings, and systems closely related to citizens' daily lives.
Changing Seoul Life is composed of a total of 69 projects across 11 sectors, centered around Seoul's slogan 'Companionship · Charming Special City.'
Introducing major projects, first, starting from the 27th, a pilot project for the Climate Companion Card will begin, allowing unlimited use of Seoul's public transportation and Ddareungi bike-sharing for 30 days with a single card. There are two types: a '62,000 KRW pass' for Seoul subway and buses, and a '65,000 KRW pass' that also includes Ddareungi. The Han River River Bus will operate from September. The city plans to enhance commuting convenience for citizens and simultaneously promote tourism around the Han River through the River Bus.
A total of 200 'Seoul-style Kids Cafes' will be selected and established, and the 'Seoul Mom and Dad Taxi,' which assists families with infant care mobility, will be expanded from the existing 16 autonomous districts to all 25 districts. The 'First Meeting Voucher' provided to newborn children and the 'Parental Allowance' given to 0-1 year-old children requiring intensive care will also be expanded. For families with a second or subsequent child causing a caregiving gap for existing children, the 'Childcare Service Copayment' will be supported.
The 'Safe Income' pilot project, which supplements a certain percentage of household income lacking compared to the standard income to compensate household income, will support 500 households this year.
The non-face-to-face health management service for Seoul citizens, 'Wrist Doctor 9988,' will improve its service by building a dedicated application to allow health management via smartwatches and personal smartphones.
To protect citizens safely from the rapidly increasing damage caused by narcotics, the 'Seoul Narcotics Management Center' will be established within the Seoul Eunpyeong Hospital.
To create a 'Safe Seoul without Poor Construction,' video record management will be expanded to all construction sites in the city starting this month. For private construction sites, video record management of five major construction processes will be mandatory for all buildings subject to building permits (project approval).
To reduce disposable products in daily life and promote an eco-friendly food delivery culture, the use of reusable containers will also begin. From May, Banpo and Ttukseom Hangang Parks will be designated as 'Reusable Container Delivery Promotion Zones,' and reusable container return boxes will be installed within the parks.
Changing Seoul Life can be viewed on the Seoul City e-book website, the Information Communication Plaza, and Seoul's representative communication portal 'Seoul in My Hand.' Printed copies will be available at Seoul City Hall, affiliated institutions and support facilities, 25 district offices and community service centers, public libraries, and Citizen Hall, among other major public facilities.
