Concerns Over Evidence Tampering
A doctor suspected of prescribing narcotics to the driver involved in the 'Apgujeong Rolls-Royce incident,' who was intoxicated by drugs and fatally struck a pedestrian while driving, has been arrested.
On the 27th, Yoon Jae-nam, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, conducted a pre-arrest detention hearing (warrant review) for Dr. Yeom, who is accused of violating the Narcotics Control Act (psychotropic substances) and other charges, and issued an arrest warrant citing "concerns over evidence tampering."
Dr. Yeom is suspected of prescribing narcotics such as propofol for non-therapeutic purposes to Shin, the perpetrator of the 'Apgujeong Rolls-Royce incident,' on August 2. The police believe that Dr. Yeom falsified Shin's medical records at the time and deleted the records after learning about the accident.
Dr. Yeom is also charged with violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (filming using cameras, etc.), quasi-rape, and quasi-forced molestation.
During the investigation of Dr. Yeom's confiscated mobile phone, the police uncovered evidence of illegal filming. It was revealed that from January last year to October this year, he sexually assaulted 10 women while they were under anesthesia and illegally filmed the acts.

Additionally, despite having his medical license suspended in October, Dr. Yeom is suspected of practicing medicine without a license at another hospital in Seoul.
Meanwhile, Shin, who drove a Rolls-Royce after taking narcotics and fatally struck a pedestrian near Apgujeong Station in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, is scheduled for a first trial verdict on January 24 next year. The prosecution requested a 20-year prison sentence for Shin during the closing arguments on the 20th.
