Golf Channel Announces Average Driver Distance Rankings

Brian Steward (USA) claimed the title of 'Shortest Driver.'
The American golf media outlet Golf Channel reported on the 20th (local time) that "analyzing the driving distances in the 2022/2023 PGA Tour season, Steward had the shortest average drive distance at 271.5 yards." This was a significant 54.8-yard difference compared to Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), who ranked first in driving distance this year with 326.3 yards. Steward joined the PGA Tour in 2010 and won once at the 2016 Zurich Classic. His current world ranking is 669th.
The second shortest driver was David Lingmerth (Sweden), with an average of 278.5 yards. Third place went to William Maggert (280 yards), fourth to Jack Blair (281.6 yards), and fifth to Brendon Todd (282 yards; all from the USA). Andrew Putnam (USA) rounded out the 'Top 10 Shortest Drivers' with an average of 284.7 yards.
