Gwangyang Tourism, aiming to become a global premium tourist city attracting ten million visitors with the tourism slogan "Gwangyang Trip Shining Day and Night," continues to receive steady attention.

Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that the ‘Gubongsan Observatory & Gwangyang Bay Night View’ was selected as the 2023 Asia Economy Hit Product of the Year, recognized for its outstanding creativity and ideas, making it a beloved content among the public.

The Gubongsan Observatory, located at the 473m summit of Gubongsan Mountain, offers a 360° panoramic view centered on the deep blue Gwangyang Bay, including the Yi Sun-sin Bridge, Yeosu Industrial Complex, Suncheon Waeseong, and Namhae Bridge, providing a spacious area that delivers Prastor (freedom of the soul).

At night, the majestic digital art beacon blazes in golden light, emitting a mysterious aura, while below, the Gwangyang Steelworks, Yi Sun-sin Bridge, and Gwangyang Port sparkle like a Milky Way, creating a magnificent night view over Gwangyang Bay.

In particular, the Yi Sun-sin Bridge, boasting the title of the first 100% domestically engineered suspension bridge, shines beautifully with a graceful figure likened to a harp made of steel, a parallel line between the sky and sea, stimulating the romance and emotions of viewers.

The Gubongsan Observatory and Gwangyang Bay Night View have been recognized as one of the ‘100 Night Tourism Attractions More Beautiful at Night, Night Night Gokgok of Korea’ selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, contributing to the activation of stay-type tourism in Gwangyang as representative night tourism spots in Korea.
