KIC Conducts Medical Volunteer Service in Cambodia with Yeollin Medical Association

Korea Investment Corporation (KIC) announced that it conducted medical volunteer work in the Dan Run, Siem Reap area of Cambodia from the 6th to the 11th in collaboration with the non-profit organization Open Medical Society.

The volunteer activity involved 31 participants, including 7 KIC employees and 18 medical staff from the Open Medical Society. The volunteer group provided free medical consultations and prescriptions to approximately 970 people at a local health center with poor medical infrastructure. They also visited a nearby elementary school to teach students oral health care methods and distributed dental hygiene supplies.

KIC had previously donated funds for the construction of a public health facility within the Dan Run health center and held a plaque ceremony during this visit.

President Jin Seung-ho said, “I deeply appreciate that members of KIC, a global investment institution, voluntarily participated in overseas volunteer work,” adding, “We will continue to strive to fulfill our social responsibility to help underprivileged groups worldwide, including emerging countries.”

Meanwhile, since 2012, KIC has partnered with the Open Medical Society to provide quarterly medical volunteer services targeting vulnerable groups such as foreign workers. The first overseas volunteer activity took place in 2019. It was temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 but resumed this year. In addition, KIC is committed to global social contribution through regular sponsorship of overseas children, emergency relief support abroad, and participation in local volunteer activities by overseas branches.
