Boseong-gun Youth Introduce Korean Charm in Germany

Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that from November 21 to 29, a 9-day international youth exchange camp was held in Berlin, Germany, organized by the Boseong-gun Youth Culture House (Director Jeon Tae-jin).

This international youth exchange camp was prepared to provide youth with opportunities for various activities and exchanges, with 7 youth applicants residing in Boseong-gun and 20 German youths participating.

The camp participants played a role in promoting the charm of Korea through language and local culture education, K-pop performances, Korean traditional culture busking, and the Boseong-gun cultural sharing market.

In particular, Boseong-gun students performed a Taekwondo demonstration as part of the Korean (Boseong) promotional exchange activities, and received great responses by wearing doboks and teaching Taekwondo to German youths.

Additionally, during the camp, participants toured cultural sites in Germany including the Jewish Memorial Park, Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Museum of Modern Art, Berliner Dom, Alexanderplatz, Berlin Wall, and Humboldt University.

Park Geum-seon (17, Boseong High School), a student who participated in the camp, said, “I was able to experience the history and culture of Germany, which overcame the pain of division similar to our country.” She added, “I was happy to interact with German friends, and it was a meaningful time to learn about cultural diversity.”

Jeon Tae-jin, director of the Boseong-gun Youth Culture House, stated, “We will continue to develop programs to enhance the global leadership and world cultural experiences of Boseong-gun youth.” He also said, “We will strive to continuously promote exchanges between our local youth and overseas youths.”
