Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that on the morning of the 6th, it held the 2nd Comprehensive Population Increase Measures Report Meeting at the Palyongsan Hall of the county office, attended by more than 40 people including all department heads and eup/myeon chiefs.

This report meeting was the second following the first on October 30th, featuring reports on a total of 46 department-specific population increase policies, along with updates on the population increase promotion status by eup and myeon.

In detail, after reporting on the promotion status and plans of population increase action tasks by each office and department, the meeting continued with intensive discussions including specific questions from the governor regarding the effects of population inflow, future action directions, and suggestions for improvement measures.

Each eup and myeon reported on the current population increase/decrease status and promotion status of population growth, and took time to introduce and share outstanding special policies by eup and myeon.

In particular, the meeting was filled with various contents aimed at attracting population inflow and preventing outflow, such as the creation of industrial complexes related to job creation, establishment of public rental housing by region, support for the living environment of returning farmers and fishermen, and support for childbirth and child care.

Governor Gong Young-min stated, “We plan to promote population increase and revitalization of the local economy as key core tasks of the 2024 county administration,” and added, “Please concentrate all administrative power to smoothly implement policies such as residential conditions, jobs, and corporate attraction for population vitality.”

He continued, “We will discover customized projects with execution power through continuous report meetings,” expressing a strong will to establish a population base for Gohung in 10 years.

The county plans to thoroughly focus on concretizing projects and securing budgets to ensure the policies discussed on this day are realized, and to steadily promote efforts to attract a living population to revitalize the local economy.
