Second Event Following Season 1 with a Total of 36 Participants in the Preliminary Round
National Mokpo University (President Song Ha-cheol) announced on the 7th that it successfully held the ‘Kkuljaem Campus Plaza Karaoke Season 2,’ an event participated by enrolled students, at the National Mokpo University Fountain Busking Performance Stage on the 6th.
This Plaza Karaoke Season 2 was the second event following ‘Season 1’ held in September, consisting of a preliminary round with a total of 36 participants (from November 28 to 29) and a final round featuring 10 selected participants.

During the approximately one-hour final stage, the 10 participants who advanced through fierce competition elevated the excitement of the contest with various performances including dance, rap, ballads, and original songs. Students, faculty members, and local residents gathered at the busking venue actively responded by singing along with the finalists’ performances.
Additionally, while the judges’ scores for the finalists were being tallied, the band club Omnibus took over the performance, showcasing their role as a representative club of Mokpo University.
Through fair judging by a panel composed of representatives from professors, teaching assistants, students, and on-site evaluators, the honorable first place of Plaza Karaoke Season 2 was awarded to Kim Hyo-bin (4th year, Department of Business Administration), who sang Heo Gak’s ‘Always.’
Following that, second and third places were awarded to Park Yoo-sang (1st year, Department of Environmental Education) and Lee Je-min (1st year, Department of English Education), who showed the spirit of freshmen. Prizes were given to the winners from first to third place.
Park Sun-wook, the lead researcher in charge of the National Mokpo University Kkuljaem Campus program, evaluated, “It was meaningful to create a space of communication where participants and audience became one through student-led singing and music performances,” and expressed, “We ask for much interest in the upcoming Plaza Karaoke Season 3 and the Mokpo University Kkuljaem Campus program next year.”
