Business Agreement Signed with Jeju-do and Suhyup Bank to Establish Public-Private Cooperation System

The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kang Seok-jin, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 7th that it has signed a business agreement with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Oh Young-hoon, hereinafter Jeju Province) and Suhyup Bank (President Kang Shin-sook) to promote the export of seafood products.

This agreement was promoted to strengthen the public-private cooperation system to overcome the crisis faced by Jeju Province's seafood industry due to recent marine environmental pollution issues and the decrease in domestic tourists visiting Jeju, and to contribute to economic revitalization.

The agreement institutions agreed to actively cooperate to expand exports of Jeju seafood and revitalize the local economy by ▲ discovering promising export companies and pioneering sales channels ▲ providing policy funds to strengthen export competitiveness such as infrastructure improvement ▲ supporting workforce development for small and medium enterprises including improving workers' employment environment.

Kang Seok-jin, Chairman of SBC, said, "We will spare no effort in providing various policy supports such as policy funds, marketing, and workforce to ensure that Jeju's clean seafood, gifted by the pristine sea, is loved worldwide," adding, "We will actively cooperate with Jeju Province and Suhyup Bank to help the local seafood industry not only overcome the crisis but also create new added value."

Prior to the business agreement ceremony, Chairman Kang visited the Jeju Seafood Export Association (hereinafter Seafood Association, President Lee Ho-sung) and Halla S&F, a seafood export and processing company, to listen to the difficulties faced by the companies.
