Dongseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group to Host This Year's 'DSU LINC 3.0 Capstone Design FAIR' 2023 Capstone Design Fair.

At the opening ceremony of this Capstone Design Fair, President Jang Je-guk, Vice Presidents Kim Jeong-seon and Nam Ho-su, along with administrative and advising professors, attended to encourage the students. From outside the university, Seo Yong-cheol, Director of the Busan Institute of Industrial Science and Innovation, also participated to celebrate the event.

The Capstone Design Fair was organized to motivate students by selecting and awarding outstanding projects among the capstone design tasks that students independently designed and produced, and to expand the achievements by exhibiting and promoting them externally.

This year, 65 excellent works selected through the first round of judging were exhibited, with 15 teams from the engineering field, 19 teams from the design field, and 31 teams from the humanities, social sciences, and arts fields participating, creating a great turnout.

Among them, 10 teams received Encouragement Awards, 6 teams received Excellence Awards, and 2 teams received the Grand Excellence Award. The prestigious Grand Prize was awarded to the Gym Factory team from the Department of Game Studies, led by student Son Min-gyun, for their functional exercise game application Gym Chair, which received a certificate and a prize money of 1 million KRW as a reward.

President Jang Je-guk said in his opening remarks, “The participation rate of our university’s students in the capstone design support program is among the highest in the country, and as proven by various external awards, our students have grown to a level where they can feel immense pride.” He added, “We will continue to strengthen practical skills to nurture talents sought after by companies.”

Capstone Design is a comprehensive, practice-oriented project that encourages students to solve problems based on the knowledge and skills they have learned. It aims to cultivate students’ fieldwork capabilities and enhance problem-solving skills through direct and indirect collaboration with local companies.

In the second year of the LINC 3.0 project, the third phase of the LINC program, approximately 4,300 students participated in this year’s capstone design support program, with an expected participation rate exceeding 90%.
