‘Make Myself Valuable Through Donation, Make Goryeong Valuable!’
On the 4th, Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province held a fundraising event for the ‘Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign’ at the county office plaza.
The event was hosted by the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Jeon Woo-heon) and organized by the Goryeong-gun Community Security Council (Chairman Kim Jong-tae) and the Fruit of Love Sharing Volunteer Group (Director Jeong Su-hwan, Honorary Director Lee Kyung-hwa), with about 300 participants including local residents, sponsors, volunteers, and organizations.
In particular, at this event, appreciation plaques from the county governor were presented to those who led the local sharing culture: Maeil Yeongnong Cooperative Corporation (Seo Tae-su), Yeongnam Industry (Kim Jeong-hee), Evergreen Bakery (Jo Gwang-rae), Donghee (Lee Soon-mok), Agricultural Corporation Shroop Care Farm (Kim Jong-gyu), Fruit of Love Sharing Volunteer Group (Min Jeong-hwan), and Fruit of Love Sharing Volunteer Group (Kim Yong-woo). This meaningful occasion expressed gratitude for their hard work, followed by the presentation of plaques to six newly joined Good Stores.
Additionally, donations of 5 million KRW each from Kiheung Country Club (CEO Kim Jang-ja) for the Fruit of Love fund and education development fund, 10 million KRW from Samo (CEO Lee Jin-hwan), 5 million KRW from Seonil Agricultural Machinery (CEO Lee Tae-chun), and about 2 million KRW collected by 30 children attending various daycare centers from the Goryeong-gun Daycare Center Association were delivered. Donations from local businesses and social organizations continued to flow in from all sectors practicing sharing.
Moreover, Hwaseong Industry Co., Ltd. donated 200 bags of 10kg rice, and bedding items donated by The Maison were transported by Shroop Care Farm (Kim Jong-gyu) as a talent donation.
Also, the Fruit of Love Sharing Volunteer Group provided fish cake service, the Goryeong-gun Community Security Council provided popcorn service, and the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea supplied a food truck serving 300 drinks, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.
At today’s Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign fundraising event, a total of 41 million KRW was raised, reflecting the warm hearts of the Goryeong residents and adding to the heartfelt atmosphere.
County Governor Lee Nam-chul said, “I deeply thank everyone for sharing hope and warmth with neighbors in need, and I hope many will participate in the ‘Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign’ so that Goryeong-gun becomes a happy and warm community living together with neighbors.”
The ‘Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign’ fundraising runs from December 1st to the end of January next year, with Goryeong-gun’s fundraising goal set at 485.5 million KRW.
