On the 29th, the Kumho Cultural Foundation announced that Kim Su-yeon will perform a piano quintet with the string quartet Danel Quartet under the subtitle "Collage Party" at Kumho Art Hall in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, on December 7.

Collage is an art technique first introduced by Picasso in the early 20th century, involving creating a new image by gluing together several small pieces. Kim Su-yeon applies the meaning of collage to music, presenting piano quintet works by Shostakovich and Dvo??k that create synergy with five instruments.

In this performance, colorful notes and floating melodic fragments will be drawn like a three-dimensional picture through the push and pull of rhythm. Shostakovich's Piano Quintet in G minor, Op. 57, is a work imbued with intense impressions and subtle humor, while Dvo??k's Piano Quintet in A major, Op. 81, is a piece that blends warm lyricism and rich melodies, making them works that seem different yet similar.

Kim Su-yeon said, "I prepared a program to richly decorate the finale of my residency, hoping it will be a place that radiates overflowing energy and positive vibes."

Kim Su-yeon made her name known in the classical world by becoming the first Asian pianist to win the Montreal International Competition in 2021. Selected as the Kumho Art Hall Resident Musician in 2023, she has presented five performances throughout the year under the theme "Harmony (?音): Painting and Music" until December.
