This competition was organized with the goal of ‘Reuse, Recycle, Reduce’ to collect indiscriminately discarded recyclables and waste resources around daily life, practice carbon-neutral green living, and create a pleasant environment.

The event proceeded with a welcoming speech by the president of the Goryeong-gun Saemaeul Association and an encouragement speech by the Goryeong-gun governor. Approximately 45 tons of waste paper and 15 tons of used clothes were collected from eight eup and myeon areas. The proceeds generated will be used as funds for helping neighbors in need at the end of the year and for Saemaeul’s own projects.

Governor Lee Nam-cheol expressed, “I thank everyone who participated in the recycling collection competition for their hard work, and I ask the Goryeong-gun Saemaeul Association to take the lead in making Goryeong-gun a cleaner place in the future.”

Park Jung-gyu, president of the Goryeong-gun Saemaeul Association, said, “I hope this event serves as an opportunity to widely raise awareness of the importance of recycling among the residents, and the Saemaeul Association will actively take part in continuous recycling collection and environmental preservation activities going forward.”
