The Jeonnam Gurye County Council (Chairman Yoo Si-moon) announced that during the 303rd extraordinary session on November 16, the 9th council conducted its first county administration inquiry on major local issues and listened to the county governor's responses.

Six council members, including Vice Chairman Kim Soo-chul, participated in this county administration inquiry, which was conducted in a Q&A format with the county governor on a total of 19 major county administration issues.

Councilor Seon Sang-won, who raised questions during the inquiry, asked about the Food Plan project, support for establishing direct agricultural product markets, measures for the virtuous circulation of local agricultural products, the establishment and operation plan of a support fund guaranteeing minimum prices for agricultural products, the progress of the Jeonnam-style 10,000 won housing project, and measures to address complaints about the shortage of public restrooms.

Councilor Lee Chang-ho questioned issues regarding the relaxation of distance regulations for solar power facilities and support measures for private lodging businesses. Vice Chairman Kim Soo-chul asked about support measures for rice box molds, carbon-neutral soil revitalization strategies, plans to attract training teams and nationwide sports competitions.

Councilor Jang Gil-seon inquired about population policies in response to the crisis of local extinction, plans for the local extinction response fund projects, and plans to honor historical figures of Gurye County. Councilor Yang Joon-sik raised questions about the tunnel construction connecting Ganjeon-myeon and Okryong-myeon in Gwangyang City, measures related to the early leaf-fall phenomenon of cherry blossom trees, the scale of agricultural and forestry budgets, budget concentration issues in large construction projects and countermeasures, and support measures for multi-child families.

The last to ask questions, Councilor Moon Seung-ok, addressed the internal operation plans for the resident participation budget system, revitalization plans for the Hwaeomsa shopping district, and winter traffic control issues on the Seongsamjae road.

The council members prepared statistical tables and on-site photos to display on the screen, providing explanations of the issues and proposing future alternatives. Through sincere questions aimed at finding solutions for a better Gurye, although there were some disagreements, most issues elicited positive responses from the county governor.

Yoo Si-moon, chairman of the Gurye County Council, stated, “Through the county administration inquiry, we conveyed the opinions of the residents on major county administration issues of great interest to them, and it became an opportunity to review key matters and express the council members’ thoughts on the direction of county administration and development plans.” He added, “For issues raised during the inquiry, please devise improvement plans and actively reflect constructive proposals when promoting county administration.”
