An event showcasing the world's top-level future core technologies of South Korea, including the lunar probe Danuri, the Korean superconducting tokamak KSTAR, quantum computer models, and quadruped robots that will lead changes in the world, was held.
The '2023 Korea Science and Technology Exhibition' (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Science Exhibition’), where the achievements of 60 years of national research and development (R&D) investment can be confirmed, will be held for four days from the 9th to the 12th at the National Gwacheon Science Museum in Gwacheon-si, Gyeonggi-do.
Hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Lee Jong-ho) and co-organized by the National Research Foundation of Korea (Chairman Lee Kwang-bok) and the National Science and Technology Research Council (Chairman Kim Bok-cheol), this event was planned under the theme ‘Korea Science and Technology That Will Change the World’ to inform the public about South Korea’s vision and role as an advanced science and technology nation.
The Science Exhibition features participation from 50 institutions including government-funded research institutes, universities, companies, and science culture organizations, showcasing cutting-edge science and technology, key technologies, and institutional achievements.
Various related events will also be held, such as the 2023 Future Convergence Forum discussing the latest research trends and industry-academia-research response strategies, the next-generation secondary battery public-private council, leading research center achievement exhibitions, and a deep science startup company performance sharing session.
At the opening ceremony, an awards ceremony was held for 27 individuals who contributed to the development of science and technology.
Cho Sung-kyung, 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, "I hope many people visit the Science Exhibition to witness and experience firsthand the past, present, and future of South Korea’s technology, which boasts world-class standards and leads a major technological transformation at the center of the era of technological hegemony."
