The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will invest a total of 86.7 billion KRW in 88 schools by next year to create spaces reflecting the opinions of the educational community.
The Office announced on the 2nd that it will invest 10.5 billion KRW in 30 schools for the Space Dream Project and 76.2 billion KRW in 58 schools for the High School Credit System Space Creation Project by next year. The Office has completed user-participation design and plans to start construction in earnest from this winter vacation, aiming to complete all projects by next year.
The projects will proceed in the order of ▲ collecting opinions from the educational community through user-participation design ▲ detailed design for space realization ▲ construction.
To more efficiently and stably assist and facilitate the entire user-participation design process, the Office has formed and operates a pool of space planners with expertise, including architects and architectural education specialists.
Kim Gwi-tae, the School Space Creation Officer at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, stated, "By establishing diverse and flexible school spaces centered on the educational community, we will actively support the projects to respond to future convergence education through 'space' and contribute to enhancing student creativity."
Meanwhile, the Office completed space creation projects for 107 schools through the Area Unit School Space Innovation Project carried out from 2019 to 2021.
