Communication and Empathy with Residents... Busan Gijang-gun, Practical Training on Policy Promotion

On the 11th, Gijang-gun, Busan, conducted a 'Policy Promotion Importance Awareness Improvement and Press Release Writing Practical Training' for its employees to realize a county administration that communicates and empathizes with its residents.

This training was promoted to spread the awareness that the success of policies depends on policy promotion and communication and empathy with residents, following the result of the 2022 policy demand survey for residents, which indicated that 'policy promotion is insufficient.'

The county stated that the training focused on helping frontline employees acquire accurate and proper press release writing methods for smooth policy promotion.

The training content included ▲definition of policy promotion and importance of media promotion ▲introduction to types of media articles ▲basic local government news that media outlets are interested in ▲writing press releases using AI ▲how to use photos in press releases ▲media response strategies, and was conducted over three hours.

Gijang-gun is currently conducting 'Policy Promotion Importance Awareness Improvement and Press Release Writing Practical Training.'

Jeong Jong-bok, the head of Gijang-gun, said, "As the saying goes, 'Policy is half design and half promotion,' promotion plays a very important role in carrying out all county administration not as a one-way street but to always communicate and empathize with residents."

He added, "Since promotion is both the beginning and the end of county administration, I hope this training will be a good opportunity for employees to recognize the importance of policy promotion and effectively convey county administration to the residents."

The county also conducted training in the first half of the year on February 23 to improve awareness of the importance of policy promotion, receiving favorable reviews from participating employees for lectures on press release writing techniques tailored to the perspectives of residents and employees.
